Welcome to the Wings and Wine Festival

The Fern Ridge Wings & Wine Festival for 2010 will be on

May 8th... hope to see you there!

Bird Watching

Bird watchers, wine lovers, and nature enthusiasts are invited to the Fifth Annual Fern Ridge Wings and Wine Festival scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2010 near Veneta, Oregon, west of Eugene.  A wide array of activities will be held throughout the day at Domaine Meriwether’s new winery and nearby Fern Ridge Reservoir, one of Oregon’s best birding areas.  The day’s schedule includes bird and nature walks, hands-on workshops, canoe trips, educational talks, children’s activities, and a wine-tasting bus tour.  Many activities are free, but some require pre-registration and a fee.

>The planning and implementation of this annual event is a cooperative effort of many community partners including the City of Veneta, Lane County Audubon Society, Fern Ridge Chamber of Commerce, Travel Lane County, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Cascades Raptor Center.  The event is held on the first Saturday in May to coincide with International Migratory Bird Day.  The festival was established in 2006 to celebrate the strengths of birding and the wine industry in the Fern Ridge area and to support bird conservation through education.
